Leighton Meester is an American model, singer, and songwriter. She is most famous for her part on Gossip Girl as Blair Waldorf. Leighton Meester got her start with the industry when she was a little girl. As a child she performed in a local production of the local production of Wizard of Oz. This inspired her to pursue the profession of acting. In the beginning the career path, she began as a TV commercial actress as well as modeling. She was born and raised in Ohio US she was passionate about performing arts since childhood. She began dancing and participated in the musical community theater for a decade. In the early years of her life, she started to perform. The first time she performed was in acting in the short movie For Today. The year 2000 was when she relocated from New York and moved to Los Angeles and began pursuing an acting career. She has appeared in many films, among them Lilith Kings of Summer Miss Stevens The Good Neighbors The First Hope as well as TV series such Law And Order: Special Victims Unit or Surviving Jack. Her battle with depression was a constant during her professional career. She was almost ready to give up acting. Then, she was awarded and praised for her portrayal as Betty Cooper. She often speaks out about depression and emphasizes the importance of maintaining good health.
